Quickly research event Ids
You've probably already noticed that the error messages
recorded in the System, Application, and Security logs don't
necessarily give you all the information you need to
troubleshoot a problem. One resource you can use to research
errors is Events and Errors Center on Microsoft's Technet
You can access the Events and Errors Center by going to
www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/support/eventserrors.asp.
On this page, you'll find links for researching errors in
Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000
Server, and Exchange 2000 Server. To research an error by
event ID, click the appropriate link for the application. In
the Event ID text box, enter the error message's event ID
and click Go. Although this Web page says that you must
enter both the event source and the ID, you can search
simply by entering only the event ID.
